Kathmandu, 17 September 2025 – Inclusive Education Nepal (IEN) successfully organized the First National Dialogue on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Inclusive Education in Kathmandu, marking a milestone moment in the country’s journey toward education that leaves no learner behind. The dialogue brought together key government stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Education (Center for Education and Human Resources Development), the National Federation of Disabled Nepal (NFDN), and several leading academic institutions such as Kathmandu University and Tribhuvan University. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions and reflections, exploring both opportunities and challenges to implementing inclusive education across Nepal.
The event emphasized that UDL is not just an international framework but an urgent national priority that can transform classrooms into equitable spaces where all learners can thrive. Speaking at the event, IEN Founder Ram Tiwari highlighted that the dialogue served as a platform for alignment and collaboration, ensuring that policies, practices, and innovations move in a shared direction. The outcomes of this national dialogue will inform IEN’s continued advocacy and action to make Nepal’s education system more inclusive, accessible, and resilient.
