Inclusive Safeguarding & Child Protection Workshop at Zenith

On 8 February, 2026, Inclusive Education Nepal conducted a safeguarding workshop at Zenith Academy, Bhaktapur, for its teachers, administrative staff, and board members .The workshop focused on enhancing participants’ knowledge of safeguarding principles and highlighting their vital role in ensuring equitable and protective learning spaces for all students. A total of 26 participants attended the session.

Nepal Inclusive Education Network Formation

On 27 January 2026, the Inclusive Education Network organized a workshop to initiate the development of a National Inclusive Education Network. This event marked the continuation of the dialogues IEN has been furthering since its first IEN Summit on 15 December 2025. The summit was attended by 22 representatives from various organizations of persons with disabilities.

Call for Experts and Service Providers Inclusive Education Nepal (IEN) is building a National Directory of Inclusive & Special Education experts and service providers in Nepal so families, schools, and communities can find support faster and more reliably. This form is open to individual professionals and organizations working in areas such as inclusive education, special education, assessment, therapy services, assistive technology, teacher training, learning support centers, disability organizations, and related fields. Inclusive Education Nepal (IEN) ले नेपालभरका समावेशी तथा विशेष शिक्षासम्बन्धी सेवा प्रदायक र विज्ञहरूको राष्ट्रिय अभिलेख तयार गर्दैछ जसबाट अभिभावक, विद्यालय र समुदायले आवश्यक सहयोग सहजै प्राप्त गर्न सकून् । यस अभिलेखबाट सार्वजनिक रूपमा सेवा र विज्ञ भेटिने मात्र होइन यसले समावेशी र विशेष शिक्षाभित्रका आवश्यकताहरू पनि पहिचान गरी नीति/प्रणाली सुधारका लागि पनि सहयोग पुग्नेछ भन्ने आशा छ ।

UNESCO Salamanca Statement (1994)

The UNESCO Salamanca Statement, adopted in 1994 at the World Conference on Special Needs Education in Salamanca, Spain, marked a historic turning point in global education. It declared that inclusive education should be the foundation of education systems, where schools welcome all learners regardless of their physical, intellectual, social, emotional, linguistic, or other conditions. The Statement emphasized that education is a fundamental human right and that schools must adapt to the diverse needs of children rather than expecting children to fit rigid systems.
