Program Details

Teachers are at the heart of inclusive education. Every classroom becomes inclusive only when teachers are supported, confident, and inspired to reach every learner. At Inclusive Education Nepal (IEN), we believe that empowering teachers means transforming education from within. Our capacity training programs help educators not only gain new skills, but also new ways of seeing their students — as unique learners with different strengths, needs, and voices.

What We Do

Inclusive Pedagogy Training

We help teachers understand diversity in learning styles, abilities, languages, and cultural backgrounds. They learn to design lessons that welcome all learners and encourage active participation.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Workshops

We train educators to plan lessons that give students multiple ways to access content, stay engaged, and express what they know. These sessions show how flexibility and creativity can make learning accessible for everyone.

Differentiated Instruction and Classroom Adaptation

Our training sessions provide practical tools for adjusting teaching methods, materials, and assessments so that every student can succeed.

Inclusive Assessment and Feedback

We guide teachers in developing fair, supportive assessment systems that value progress and effort, not just performance.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

We integrate wellbeing, empathy, and relationship-building into teacher training, helping educators create emotionally safe classrooms where every child feels respected.

Leadership for Inclusion

School principals and management teams are supported to build whole-school inclusion plans that align with national standards and international best practices.

Our Transformative Approach

Our training goes beyond technical skill-building. It challenges teachers to reflect on their own beliefs about difference, fairness, and justice.

Through the lens of Transformative Inclusive Education, we encourage educators to see inclusion not as an extra task but as a way of teaching that is more human, creative, and just.

By connecting UDL and UDJ, we help teachers translate justice into everyday teaching:

  • Representation becomes dignity when every child’s identity is reflected in lessons.
  • Engagement becomes participation when every student feels involved.
  • Expression becomes agency when learners are trusted to show their understanding in their own ways.

Our Vision

We envision a network of teachers across Nepal who are not only skilled in inclusive practices but also inspired to lead change in their schools and communities. Through our capacity training programs, we are helping build a generation of educators who teach with compassion, design with equity, and see every learner as capable of growth and success.

Because when teachers believe in inclusion, inclusion becomes possible.
